Rose-breasted Grosbeak
There is always excitement at our house when we spot the first Rose-breasted Grosbeak of the year. We rarely see more than one or two at a time around here and only occasionally during the summer does that occur. Its colorful splashes of black, white and rosey-red are beautiful, making it one of our top ten favorites.

Tufted Titmouse
The Tufted Titmouse is another favorite songbird that frequents our birdfeeders here in eastern Pennsylvania. With its distinctive crest, it proudly holds its own amongst the many other birds at the feeders, including its more colorful cousin, the Cardinal.

Cardinal
The Cardinal is probably one of the most recognizable birds in America with a beauty that is unsurpassed. We love seeing the brightly colored Cardinals at our birdfeeders after a pretty snow. Definitely Winter’s red jewels.

Chickadee

Goldfinch
When we see the brilliant gold of the Goldfinches, we know Spring has arrived. We enjoy seeing them at the thistle feeders all Summer, but watching their acrobatics while feeding on the dried flower heads in the Fall, is a treat.

Baltimore Oriole
The sight of a Baltimore Oriole in our yard is always a treat. They like to nest in the sycamore trees not far away from us. The Oriole is such beautiful bird, I just had to add it to my Songbirds collection.

Bluebird
One of our greatest Spring delights is the sight of beautiful Bluebirds flying through out fields searching for the perfect nesting box. An avid bird lover and photographer, my husband never tires of welcoming them "home". In my new Songbird design series, the Bluebird was a "must have" design.

Indigo Bunting
This piece features a Flying Bird block done in the colors of an Indigo Bunting. It is hand quilted, mounted horizontally on an acid-free matboard and framed under glass with spacers to lift the glass away from the quilt.

Scarlet Tanager
With red being my favorite color, featuring the Scarlet Tanager in my new Songbird design series was a given. The red and black colors of this beautiful bird create a naturally beautiful graphic design. Capturing them in fabric was a lot of fun.
