What's New?

Amazingly, 2011 is well underway now, and it's about time I updated my What's New? page.   Here are my 10 most recent pieces.  Hope you enjoy them.

Simple Joys - introduced in March 2011

Every time Spring is just around the corner, I'm always motivated to design a new Spring celebration piece.  This year I decided I would design a new flower.  This quilt features three of my new flowers in a pretty little flower pot.   To me, they really are "simple joys".   Click here for more details in the Quilt Gallery.

Tracks in the Woods - introduced in March 2011

Although tedious to make, I just love the Bear's Paw block.  In this design, I reduced the block size and made an arrangement of four Bear's Paw blocks set on-point.  While arranging the finished blocks, I decided to add a simple Tree block in the middle of the design.   I think the combination nicely captures that exciting discovery of bears' tracks in the woods.     Click here for more details in the Quilt Gallery.

Variable Star Sampler - introduced in November 2010

Again, working with my favorite Variable Star block, I was able to take advantage of the star centers to feature even more quilt block favorites.  The result is a nice "sampling" of a number of wonderful blocks.   Click here for more details in the Quilt Gallery.

Ohio Traditions - introduced in October 2010

The Ohio Star block is one of those old traditional quilt blocks that is always fun to work with.  For this design, I decided to do a color-play with four of the blocks and finished it off with a double border.  It's a simple design that makes a strong graphic statement.  Click here for more details in the Quilt Gallery.

Star Dance - introduced in September 2010

I always love to find different ways to work with my favorite star block, the Variable Star.   For this design, I arranged the stars in a circle.  When it was done, I was struck by how much movement there seemed to be in the design, almost as if the stars were "dancing" around the center.  Click here for more details in the Quilt Gallery.

Trip Around the World - introduced in September 2010

This quilt design, with its wonderful array of colors, has been a quilter's favorite  for decades.   I decided I had to give it a try myself.  Choosing the fabrics was the funnest part of the whole process.  Like many of the strong geometric quilt designs, you never know what it will look like until it's all done.   I was thrilled with the outcome.   Click here for more details in the Quilt Gallery.

Hidden Acres Farm - introduced in September 2010

There's nothing I love better in our rural American landscape than the sight of a beautiful sprawling farm.   I designed this quilt to honor that legacy and to celebrate our proud American farmers.  Click here for more details in the Quilt Gallery.

Leaf Dance - introduced in September 2010

When the air turns cooler and the winds begin to blow, the Fall leaves seem to just "dance" in the air.  I designed this quilt to capture that blissful sight of colorful falling leaves, signaling yet another change in seasons.  Click here for more details in the Quilt Gallery.

Timeless Trio - introduced in September 2010

This new design is a sweet and simple tribute to timeless quilt traditions.  I chose three of my favorite traditional quilt blocks, reduced the block size to one and a half inches, arranged them in a simple side-by-side "trio", and framed it in my newest sized frame, a 6" x 9".   I love it!  Click here for more details in the Quilt Gallery.
